Take a look inside Chamberlain Clinic

The name Chamberlain Clinic comes from a very important slice of Birmingham's political history. Next door - 83 Harborne Road - was home to British statesman Joseph Chamberlain, who was one of the most important politicians of his time. He lived there with his wife Harriet and son Austin, half brother of Neville Chamberlain (who served as Prime Minister from May 1937 to May 1940).

Joseph Chamberlain was renowned as a social reformer at a local and national level. The ideas with which he is most famously associated - tariff reform and imperial unity- were very much ahead of their time and pointed the direction British policy would take into the 20th century.

Our clinic at 81 Harborne Road was built in a very similar style to our near neighbour. It reflects the affluence the Chamberlain family brought to the street, with its red brick faced elevations, large windows and ornate iron entrance.
