Mr Matthew Newton Ede is a spinal surgeon at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust and Birmingham Children's Hospital.

With more than two decades medical experience under his belt, he qualified in 2002 and undertook specialist training in Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Salford Royal Hospital, Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital, Alder Hey and Robert Jones Agnes Hunt Hospital, Oswestry.

He specialises in treating a wide range of spinal problems including surgery of the neck and he has a particular interest in children's spinal deformity surgery, and divides his clinical practice between adults and children with complex spinal disorders.

He consistently strives to deliver high quality, caring and patient focused spinal surgical care and is experienced in providing timely medical reports covering the full range of spinal conditions.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, England, and a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, AO Spine, the British Association of Spinal Surgeons and the British Scoliosis Society.
