Mr Andrew Jackowski
Lead spinal surgeon at the Birmingham Spinal Clinic and President of the Cervical Spine Research Society | Cited in The Times Magazine's Britain's Top 50 Surgeons Guide
Mr Jackowski completed his undergraduate training at Univeristy College Hospital in London, where he graduated with a BSc (Honours) and MBBS.
He went on to specialise in neurosurgery at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Queens Square London and Charing Cross Hospital in London. Mr Jackowski also completed a Doctorate in Medicine at the University of London.
Other appointments included Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Heartland and Birmingham Children’s Hospitals.
He has been a Clinical Director of Spinal Services, a Responsible Officer, Director of Workforce and Regulation, and Head of a Research Laboratory for the study of spinal biomechanics with assessment of the mechanical behaviour of spinal implant devices.
He is a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons, Society of British Neurological Surgeons, British Scoliosis Society, and the Cervical Spine Research Society, as well as past President of the British Cervical Spine Society and the European Cervical Spine Research Society. Andrew has been an advisor to a number of bodies on matters relating to the spine and its treatment, and lectured extensively on spinal conditions. His clinical and academic expertise encompasses nearly all spinal conditions, treatment and prognosis including degenerative disease, disc prolapses, spinal cord compression, traumatic injuries, congenital problems, spinal deformity, primary/secondary tumours and infection.

As a long-established consultant neurosurgeon and spinal surgeon, Andrew's expert witness work includes advising solicitors, insurers, and leading counsel on all aspects of causation and condition involving spinal conditions. His extensive experience includes preparing expert medical reports, attending legal conference and giving expert evidence in court.
